Hi! Thanks for taking time to get to know us. Jeremy and I are pretty much the luckiest people on the planet—parents to 10 of the most amazing kids you could ever meet. We started out with three by birth; Taylor (19), Parker (18) and Jessica (15). After losing sweet Jacob and Emily to stillbirth, we turned to adoption. Why China? Because that’s where our kids were! ..
As we narrowed down our experiences, we thought it would be fun to leave 12 of them blank and let viewers help pick them for us! We will try to choose one each month to add to our list. If you would like to submit a challenge for us, just leave a comment below!
Our family has a goal to live more intentionally–to live on purpose rather than just getting through a day. It’s so easy to spend too much time on electronics only to realize we missed out on real experiences. We want to create more memories, learn new things, enjoy the outdoors, serve others…you get the drift! As a family we chose 100 experiences we want to have during 2019. We came up with the name Lily Challenge because “live intentionally” begins with “li” and ends with “ly.”
No. A bucket list is comprised of dreams you want to cross off before you kick the bucket. Our Lily Challenge list is different. Though some experiences are big, others are quite ordinary. Some are new to us, but many are things we have already done before and want to make sure we repeat this year. This is not a comprehensive list, but rather one we came up with to help us focus on our goal of living more intentionally.
There is no right or wrong way to do this! Perhaps choosing 100 things seems completely overwhelming. Choose 10. Or one a week. Or one a month. Maybe choose 19 things for the year (19 new things in 2019). You can choose things you’ve never done, or ones you do often but want a reminder of. The main goal is to live on purpose and create more memories.
We’d love to follow your unique Lily Challenge. Use #LilyChallenge to tag us on your social media pages so we can see what you’re doing!
We hope creating and sharing the videos of our Lily Challenge will serve several purposes:
Hahaha. We have been blessed with 10 beautiful kids and two little angels in heaven. What you are likely really wondering is how we came to have such a big family. When we began the adoption process 12 years ago, it was for ONE sweet little girl. But after visiting her orphanage, the plight of orphans became real to us. We find ourselves repeatedly asking, “Do we have room for one more?” We have been so richly blessed to be able to keep saying, “yes!” and are so grateful for each of our incredible kids. Life is better with each precious one.
